Gerdau Ameristeel has achieved an effective Business Quality Management System through its comprehensive system for measuring and communicating the performance of all aspects of its business.  A “traffic light” monitoring and reporting system, an online system of “one-minute” process reminders, and newsletters full of interesting company facts and features sent to the home, are just some examples of the “visual management” style of the company that has made it successful.

This presentation will address these communication methods as well as the importance of TEAM and how to make using “experts”, communicating quality tools and facilitating (not managing) TEAM work for you.

Speaker:  Roxane Beyette – Quality Assurance Coordinator,
                   Gerdau Ameristeel Corporation – Cambridge Division

Roxane Beyette has been involved in the field of quality and business management systems for over ten years.  Her diverse manufacturing experience includes industries such as printing inks, plastic tanks and industrial equipment, city transit buses and steel production. 

Roxane joined Gerdau Ameristeel in Cambridge, Ontario just over four years ago.  In her current capacity as Quality Assurance Coordinator, Roxane is responsible for maintaining and improving the organization’s Business Management System to meet the needs of all stakeholders.

Roxane is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from Queens University.
