Topic:
CSA Initiatives
This presentation will cover the new and innovative products that are
available from The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Education and
Training department. Come and see how these innovative learning tools are
applied to Management Systems such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. CSA provides
extensive training opportunities for Canadian companies. One new format
includes game based learning packages that engage the learner in an
interactive learning environment. This interactive approach provides a new
fun, dynamic for on-site training and helps build awareness of quality
principles. For quality professionals this session will provide some fresh
ideas and approaches to training.
Also covered will be the new CSA
standards that follow the Plan - Do - Check - Act approach. Highlights of
other software tools, programs and standards will also be reviewed in this
presentation. |

Speaker:
Richard Boyles
Product
Manager, Business Systems and Risk Management, Canadian Standards
Association
Over the last 15 years Richard has held a variety of
training and development roles in several industry sectors including Quality
Management, IT and Software development, Healthcare, Manufacturing and
Retail Systems prior to coming to CSA.
Initiatives he is responsible for include the
management and development of training products to support the management
systems standards that CSA is involved in, these include ISO 9001, ISO 14001
OHSAS 18001 to name a few.
He is also responsible for the development of products

Call for Members to Volunteer for Sub-Committees
|
Your ASQ Hamilton executive is working on strategies to
ensure that your section continually improves the value
offered to its membership. Currently, we have identified a
need for two sub-committees:
1. Website/Internet Sub-Committee
2. Awareness/Recruitment Sub-Committee
As with all tasks, a team effort can bring forth unimagined
success and innovation. We encourage you, our valued
members, to consider participating in one or both of these
two ASQ Hamilton sub-committees. To paraphrase
Roberto M. Saco, ASQ President: We all
need to get involved in as many “Really Big Q” conversations
as possible. This is your opportunity to do just that.
Each sub-committee will be required to first develop a
project charter with a scope and responsibilities for the
project. Every attempt will be made to meet through email
communications and may require one meeting in person. Time
requirements for this phase are estimated at a few hours per
month spread out over several months.
The next phase would be to complete the project. Depending
on the sub-committee, a few members will be asked to market
and/or conduct presentations. For your efforts, each
sub-committee member will receive 1.5 RU points per year.
