: The
Plainsman Restaurant on Hwy 5, 3 km west of Hwy 6 in Dundas, Ontario has been
arranged as the permanent dinner and meeting location of ASQ Hamilton Section
for the 2003 / 2004 session. There will be no charge to members for the dinner
on this Member Appreciation Night.
After the dinner we shall
briefly review the section’s past year’s activities, and then invite your
ideas, suggestions and
opportunities for improvement for next year’s program.
During the meeting, we will also respond to members’ questions about the new
ASQ Membership Model and fee structure which will take effect on July 1, 2004.
All members should have received details of the new model by now from ASQ
Headquarters. Details are available

At the March 10, 2004
membership meeting, a slate of candidates was presented for the positions of
Chair-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer for 2004 / 2006.
Additional nominations for
these positions were requested at the meeting, as well as earlier in the March
Section Newsletter.
With no additional nominations
received, and with the current Chair-Elect moving to the Chair position, the
Section Officers for 2004 / 2006 will be:

ASQ Hamilton Section Awards for Academic Achievement
Every
year ASQ Hamilton Section funds two awards of $500 each that are presented to
students for academic achievement at Mohawk College.
The recipients this year are:

Szymanski - 4th semester Industrial Engineering Technician
Richard
Mantel - 5th semester Industrial Engineering Technology – Management
ASQ’s Annual Quality
Congress will be held this year in Toronto, and promises to be a great
