Note :  The Plainsman Restaurant on Hwy5, 2 miles West of Highway 6 in Dundas, Ontario has been arranged as the permanent dinner meeting location of the Sec 0400  for the 1999 / 2000 session. Charge for the dinner and the presentation is currently $20.00, with a cash bar.

 

The November membership meeting will present Carl Fleck (Chief Metallurgist and Technical Manager - Bodycote Galt Materials Testing) and Jamie Walker (Quality Manager - Bodycote Ontario Laboratories Quality Systems).

 

Bodycote International PLC is a UK-based corporation. The Materials Testing group is the world's largest independent group of test laboratories, with over 35 facilities worldwide. It is part of the Bodycote Metal Technology Group which is the world's leading specialist in Metallurgical services. The presentation will highlight organization of Bodycote, its principles and capabilities. The services and quality procedures used by the three facilities in Ontario will also be introduced.

 

Carl graduated from the Mechanical Technology Programme at the New Brunswick Institute of Technology and the Metallurgical Technology Programme at Sir Sanford Flemming College in Peterborough. Carl worked for the New Brunswick Community College and the Canadian Aviation Safety Board before joining Galt Testing Lab as a Metallurgist in 1987.

 

Jamie is a certified Advanced Technology Manager. After joining ORTECH in 1980, he held progressive technical positions throughout the Company. Appointed as Quality Manager in 1995, Jamie is responsible for the continued development, implementation and maintenance of Bodycote Ontario Laboratories Quality systems as well as Bodycote Ortech's in-house Instrument Calibration Laboratory.
