Subject:    Automotive Manufacturing – A Global Perspective
 

 The Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA) is Canada’s national association representing original equipment suppliers for the global automotive industry.  APMA’s membership accounts for 90% of Canada’s $34 Billion original equipment manufacturing (OEM) automotive parts industry which employs over 103,000 people in Canada.

In a recent analysis of Canada’s ability to compete in this arena, APMA has identified some strengths and weaknesses of automotive parts manufacturing sector, as well as some threats and opportunities that the OEMs can take advantage of in order to continue to compete in the global marketplace.  This presentation will discuss the results of this analysis and set the direction for moving forward in the future.

 SPEAKER:    Vincent Guglielmo
                          Director of Marketing & Strategic Initiatives,
                          Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association


Vince Guglielmo joined the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association in June 2000 and holds the titles of Director of Marketing & Strategic Initiatives and Secretary.  In his current capacity, Vince is responsible for coordinating public policy and lobbying initiatives with APMA’s President.  He also oversees all marketing activities of the association including media and special event management, trade missions and production of all APMA publications.

In addition to serving on various APMA Committees, Vince is also member of various industry sub-committees including the Canadian Automotive Partnership Council’s (CAPC) Trade Committee, Infrastructure Committee and the Southern Ontario Gateway Council.   

 Vince is a graduate of McMaster University, Hamilton (1986) with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and is a volunteer on several non-profit boards.  Prior to joining APMA, Vince had a successful career in the tourism and hospitality industry.
