Plant Tour
- Tuesday, April 22, 2008 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM Location: 546 Elgin Street, Brantford (See map below) Topic
Description: Namasco Blanking Centre (NBC) is a small blanking facility, started in 1988, which provides a unique service to the local automotive industry. As a processor of light gauge steel, NBC serves as a service provider by offering to its customers a facility that acts like an extension of their own facility, by taking on the customer’s own material and tooling and returning product as feed stock to their facility/equipment. NBC provides other services to its customers, such as Inventory Management, Material Management, and Tooling Maintenance. NBC is also an industry leader in stamped door skins for the residential steel door market, and ships this product globally. NBC’s approach to TS 16949 certification was to simplify the TS 16949 standard into layman terms and concepts and empower Process Owners to manage their processes effectively. By utilizing electronic hyperlinks extensively within its Business Operating System (BOS), NBC was able to link all their process maps together in addition to having all required documents being links to each process map, for ease of use. This provides all employees an understanding of their related process requirements (inputs, outputs, etc.) and required tools, and provides them insight into how they fit into NBC’s BOS. Agenda: 7:00 – 8:00 pm Overview of NBC’s BOS 8:00 – 8:15 pm Q&A plus refreshments 8:15 – 8:45
