CGL
Manufacturing, Guelph
|
For this event, due to the late cancellation of the previously planned tour, we have decided to recruit the services of Ontario Plant Tours, who specialize in organizing tours of plants who have successfully implemented specific approaches – in the case of CGL, lean manufacturing.
There will be a
non-refundable fee of $10 for this tour, which includes a light pizza dinner and
a presentation. Ontario Plant Tours is actually charging $25 per person, but the
Section has decided to subsidize this event. Pre-registration is required for
this tour.

About CGL: CGL Manufacturing Ltd.,
a manufacturer of machined parts, components, weldments and complete assemblies,
has adopted lean philosophy throughout the organization. The payoff has been
tremendous for CGL. Operating on a just-in-time basis, tremendous attention is
placed on balancing customer satisfaction, quality and the elimination of waste
at all levels of the organization. During the tour, the participants will get a
first hand look at 5S + 1 that works, Kanbans and the Visual Workplace. Being
world class is making it look easy! The payoffs of Lean have been freed floor
space for more production, faster delivery, better quality, a new paint line,
more business and more profits. In just one cell over 1000 km of forklift
traffic has been eliminated.
The location of the plant is 151 Arrow Road in
